Steering problem
2002 Dodge Ram Four Wheel Drive Automatic 65000 miles

My 2002 ram 1500 4.7 magnums power steering has been weird for a couple of months. I never checked the fluid but yesterday i went to steer and the wheel wouldnt go without alot of force. I put P/S fluid in and i thought everything was fine, 10 minutes later the steering was dead. There is a leak on the P/S pump around the pulley shaft, do i need a new P/S pump with a reservoir or can i use my old reservoir with a new pump. Can i rebuild the P/S pump if neccisary? thank you very much

Hi:
does the pump work when there is fluid in the it? Also, it's not worth rebuilding your pump for the cost of one. Also, yes you can use your reservoir.
