Every morning I start my truck in St. Cloud, FL and the air conditioning works great. Sooner or later I will park (turn off engine) and any time later return to take off again. At this time the air conditioner may or may not activate. If it does activate the fan speed may be any setting from low to high -- regardless of which speed I select. Sometimes, the air conditioner will kick in while I am underway and sometimes not. My mechanic says there is plenty of air condx coolant in the system and belt is OK. If the compressor is not working neither will any fan speed, even if I dial for outside air only.

It sounds like the switch in the truck is bad. Did the mechanic check that?

Yes, both the mechanic and I messed around with the switch on the dashboard. We wiggled it back and forth trying to see if the compressor and fan would engage due to the wiggling but this was 100% ineffective. BTW, Thanks for your reply. Any other suggestions?

Try replacing the blower motor resister or the blower motor relay.

Thanks for the suggestions.
However, I replaced the resistor and relay today and still have the problem. After the replacements on starting the truck the air blower and temp all were fine. But when I got home and turned the engine off, waited 30 seconds and turned the engine on, no cold air with zero air coming out of the vents on any or all switch positions. What else is left, to replace or fix?
