1997 Dodge Ram slipping and no go

Tranny started to slip and 2 miles later would not go. Waited 20 minutes or so and tranny would enguage and move for 200 feet and not move again. Waited again and it moved for short distance and then nothing. Called tow truck and brought it home where it sits now. Any quick fixes is appreciated as I am not rich.

Have any warning lights come on? Is the trans fluid clean and full?

No lights, fluid clean. I changed filter and fluid yesterday and all seems to be working well. My OD does not seem to be enguaging though. 70 miles per hour at 3000 RPM. Any thoughts on that.

It sounds like it could be a bad converter. Is the OD light flashing?
