1997 Dodge Ram altenator

Replaced Alt. new belt still no charge. Checked fuse in engine its good. Checked wire from Alt to fuse box by Battery good. Also before replacement if the took my foot off excelrator the alt light would go on.

Please give tell me what i need to do futher
