Hi, my question is a simple one. My truck has a timing chain, not belt. Is it still a good idea to change the timing chain at the same time as the water pump? I learned the hard way years ago with the belt. I'm trying to avoid that very exspensive mistake this time around. Thanx for your time, Bryson Wood

Normally a timing chain last much longer than a timing belt. Most timing belts have a scheduled time when you need to change it. Timing chains can stretch over time but very rarely break.
