1994 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i craked up my truck, and it was not charging. It ran rough then I turned it off went to get out and the starter turned over by itself, the switch was off!And of course it got hot and was smokin?What the heck was that about?

Could be few different things. Faulty solenoid, sticking relay or faulty ignition switch. You can have starter tested to see if solenoid is faulty. Swap out relay with another relay of same size. If OK then suspect faulty switch
