We have a 1994 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD Truck. Whats causing sludge in the oil? Oil light coming on, pressure dropping, and will not ilde when sitting at a red light in drive? Is it time to rebuild the whole motor? What will it cost? Theres about 150,000 miles on it. Trans replaced at 85,000.

As for the sludge, it could be caused by many factors including not chaning the oil often enough to using poor quality oil. First thing to try is go by the auto parts store and get two complete oil changes with quality oil and filter. Substitute one quart of oil for a can motor flush. Next drain your oil and change your filter, put a new filter on. Pour the quart of motor flush in then finish filling the crankcase with oil. Start your truck up and let it idle for around 10 minutes(directions are on the back of the motor flush). Then drain the oil and change your filter and refill with oil. This should get rid of the sludge. If not you may have to do it again. Heads up by flushing the engine it may uncover other problems that you did not know you had like seals and gaskets that are worn out and once the flush cleans the sludge out they may start to leak.
