1984 Dodge Ram gas guage

1984 Dodge Ram V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

The needle on my gas guage drops to empty @ just over 1/4 a tank. How do I repair this properly?

Hi:
It sounds like the float assembly is bad. One problem, it's part of the fuel pump in the tank and to replace it, the tank needs removed and the pump needs replaced too.
