I have a 1986 Dodge 600 convertible with 2.5 engine. The ignition switch is broken and I need to remove it to replace. How do I remove the steering wheel to access the ignition switch? Is there a way to "pry" off the hub cover to get to the steering hub nut?
Thank you,

You need to get a steering wheel puller do not hammer on the shaft. Most natl. Auto parts stores have a tool loaner program, or they are pretty cheap for a basic one. As far as the center cover look on the back side of wheel and see if there any screws holding the cover to wheel, if not it should just pull off with your hands. Ok good luck

Help.
Now thatv I have the steering wheel pulled, How do I access the ignition switch? This seems to be getting more complicated as I go into it. This is a "tilt" steering wheel base and I don't know how to remove the next set of hardware after the wheel is gone or just pull the ignition switch. ( Had the car for 3 1/2 years and this is first problem) Thanks for any other assistance.

Hello, are you replacing the ign. Key cyl? And if so can you turn the key? If you can, you need to onscrew the two halves of the covers on column and insert key and turn it 1 click forward and look for a a small hole under switch, take a small pick/screw driver and push in and rotate key and pull out at same time and it should come out, otherwise(ket wont turn) it is difficult to remove w/o damaging column. Thats all I can offer for advice. Sorry
