Enigine light

I have a 1996 dodge rom van full size with an engine light on, when I took it and had it put on a computer, it said that it had a bad coolant sensor. It is a 6 cylinder, automatic with 150,000 miles.

The part store gave me the wrong sensor, so I brought both in and got the correct one, but the light is still on.

Since the part store gave me the wrong one at first, i'm second guessing my self, as to if I changed the correct one.

If you could e-mail me any info I would appreciate it. Also if you have a picture of the engine showing the location of the senso that would lso be great.

Thanks
Eileen

Is one of the sensors a 1-wire and the other a 2 wire?
If so the 2-wire is the coolant sensor and the 1-wire is the temp gauge sender

Thankyou we will try changing the 2 wire sensor. By the way the van is running a little warm, would this sensor cause that as well.

The sender being off a little can make it seem as though it is running warm, same with a gauge that is off a little.
