I have a 2003 dodge pickup R2500, 5.7L 4 x4 with 147745 miles. Last 9 VAN. # 33G762597.

Truck starts but won’t stay idling. If I keep it at 3000rpm, it will stay running clean. I’ve scanned it and came up with Nemours codes, none of which saying there’s a misfire. I’ve replaced the throttle body and hade the ECM flashed. Still the same problem. What direction should I go at this point.

Check the idle air control valve, EGR valve and PCV valve and test the throttle position sensor, also look for vacuum leaks.

Well we did all the standard checks and then I decided to do a compression check, we found # 8 cylinder was dead to my surprise. I'm now in the process of tearing it down to see what went wrong. I do believe we have a burnt valve. It's just funny how the truck ran perfect at over 3000 RPM. I hope this may help in further issues.
