2005 Dodge Neon my air conditioner won't work

My air conditioner in my car keeps blowing fuses so it won't work what would cause this

Pull the connector off the AC compressor and put a new fuse in it then turn it on see if it blows, the electrial part of the compressor may be shorted or do an ohm reading to the coils also
