My 04 dodge neon idles rough, and the check engine in on. It has been on for at least 6 months. Its my wifes car, she doesn't mind the idle I suppose. I drives me crazy so I took it to Firestone to do a diagnostic. Codes 300 and 301 came up. Random misfire and cyl 1 misfire. Firestine said cyl 1 has low compression. Cyl 1 reads at 70psi cyl 2 125psi cyl 3 123psi cyl 4 125psi. I believe the guy at firestone said it was low fuel pressure. He said I would have to take it to a dealership to have them fix a valve or something, but I do not want to pay out the @$$. What would you reccomend I can do? I am a little Mech inclined.

Check the no.1 cylinder compression both dry and wet tests to confirm where its leaking at -valves or rings also you can follow it up with a cylinder leakage test
