When I was coming to work this morning I was going 55-60 mph and the speedo started slowly going down jumping back up a little as it went. It stopped at 10 mph then jumped up to about 50 mph then went down to 0 and stayed there. Then the engine started to rev up a little but from what I could tell my speed didn't change. When it would rev up the car would like jerk a little like it was changing gears but the tach would only move about 20 rpm. The car has 132000 miles and I had the lower main seal replaced about 1-1 1/2 years ago. What is up?
Thanks.

Could be the VSS (Vehicle speed sensor)For starters have the PCM (computer) scanned for codes, Autozone will do it for free. If the PCM sees a problem it will store a code that will help in diagnosing the problem, get back with the exact codes. If the PCM doesnt see the vehicle moving (speedo) it wont let the trans shift

I had the codes scanned and just as I thought missfire cyl #3. The guy told me it sounds like the speedo problem is a cluster problem for it not to have any codes. Why does this thing keep spiting out missfires? I had a big problem with this before. I had champion plugs with the screw on tops and the tops kept coming off. So I changed the plugs to something that doesn't screw on last summer. Is this just that the car is getting a lot of miles on it?
I don't know what the code was for the Chrysler but I will probably take it to A.Z. Next time it comes on and have it checked.
Thanks
