OK, broke a Timing belt on highway(@65mph)
I just replaced belt, when I re installed new one, I got #1 cylinder TDC, and put crank and cam gears with timing marks up and aligned on timing marks. But I cant get the car to start. Is it possible to be 180 out. Im good on old V8's, but these interferance motors are sort of confussing to me. Second, I didnt here and valves hitting pistons when it happened, is there a way to check them with out pulling the head off. Springs are all still intack, and valve stems are all still visible, my biggisest concern I guess is bent valve's.

I just checked one today and what I did was remove the valve cover and turn engine over until both valves were closed on the suspect cylinder and applied air into spark plug hole and in my case air was blowing out the tail pipe, I removed the head and found a bent exhaust valve. Hope this helps

You need to make sure your timing marks are correct
start by checking and making sure timing marks are on
and if so do a compression test

I did everything that you show here in the pictures my only problem now is that I am running horribly. I pulled the spark plugs and three out of the four smell like fuel. Should I replace the plugs what else should I check or do?
