Is it necessary to replace a timing belt when replacing a water pump? Also what is a fair price?

Thank you in Advance,
Jennifer

It isn't necessary, but since it is a maintenance item and you have already paid the labor to access it, it is a good idea to spend the extra 50 dollars for the belt and have them install the new one rather than just reinstalling the old one.
