Check engine light and oil light

Just bought a 2002 dodge intrepid.I believe it is a 2.7 litre motor. It has 122000 kms. The oil pressure switch was replaced prior to us buying it. When you drive for a period of time on the highway the oil light comes on when you come to a stop but as soon as you step on the gas it goes out. Also the check engine light has came on and is not going out. It still works good and sounds good. Someone told me it could just be a sensor. Does anyone have any advice for me?Thanks so much for all your help in advance.

I have some information, but you might not like it. You need to get an external oil pressure gauge that will reach up to the windshield to monitor the real pressure so you can see it when the oil pressure drops. And probably is.
