Where is the location of the thermostat location on 1999 2.7L and how is it removed? Seen some web links that say its on the top of the motor in the middle and some others that say it's under the alternator.

Sounds like you have a leak. The system needs to be pressure tested and I seriously doubt you are going to repair thing in any parking lot.

The engine thermostat is located in a water box, formed in the front of the lower intake manifold. This thermostat has an air bleed located in the thermostat flange.

I want to chane the thermostat, and I am not sure of it's location. I think it's on the upper house leading into the engine. That fitting seems to have a nipple on it. Do you know what that is also?

Thanks!

M name is Ray and I just turned 16. For my bithday my parents gave me there old car. It has been running hot and I called around and found out I needed a thermostat. After buying one, no one on the block knows where it goes. I don't have the money to take it to a shop. My question is where does the thermostat go and does anyone know where I can find a diagram of the thermostat location that might help. Thank you.

It is located at the end of the top radiator hose at the top of the motor, where the hose is clamped to the housing. Go to a parts store and ask if they have the time to come out to your car and show you where is goes and how to do it, other than that got to the store and look at a haynes manual. Please don't try to repair this without the motor being cold. Good luck
