What kind of problem your having with the brakes
I don’t now of a solenoid for the brakes
is it an ABS system your looking for

To my understanding the Brake lock solenoid wont allow the gear shift to move from park to any other postion if not energized.

OK
did you check if your brake light comes on when you step on the paddle
you have the brake light switch on the paddle make sure it has battery power at one of the wires

Yes the brake lights come on when I depress brake peddle, the gear shift sometimes will go to drive and sometimes not all the while the brake lights are working

This looks like a floor shift, mines a column
shift, or else iam not looking at it right

You have a shifter solenoid
its located by the ignition cylinder
check for power when brake applyed

The brake lock solenoid was dirty and spraying wd40 allowed the solenoid to operate. Thanks for your help.
How to expose the column on 2002 Dodge Intrepid
(1) Open drivers side door and pry panel cover on fuse box Left side of dashboard
(2) Unscrew four Phillip head screws holding left panel on
(3) Unscrew large star head screw holding column move lever and remove
(4) Grab lower panel at bottom and pull out two to three inches and
then grab as high as you can and pull straight out or hit bottom, pressure tabs
hold this panel on
(6) Under column are two star head screws remove and pull down on bottom half of
key cover, these two halves are clipped together a little twisting will help to separate
