Drive Train Axles Bearings problem
2001 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 63,000 miles

My car just passed it's annual PA state inspection. But, I was told that my "axle is leaking and the right front axel needs to be replaced (part # 4882518) at a cost of $215.00 plus one hour of labor." But, I see no spots in my driveway. Nothing is leaking out.

In your professional opinion, do you believe my mechanic is "taking me for a ride"? Please reply to me at kathleen. Dietrick@tenethealth. Com.

Thank you very much for any information you can provide.

The price is in the right range

so that leads me to believe he is an honest man

but if you think that his about to take you for a ride
get another estimate or have it checked by some one else
good luck hope that helped

Thank you for your right-on advise. I did speak to another locally-trusted mechanic who gave me the same information. And I now feel comfortable making the service appointment.

Thanks again!
