Steering problem
2000 Dodge Intrepid Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i just repaired a leak in my power steering line. Before the repair the power steering worked fine. Now after the repair the the power steering is extreamly hard to turn but if you bring the rpms up to 1000 it turns like it should normally. Dont know if the belt is slipping but I dont think it is has really good tension on it. Or maybe it's the pump that is going please help

It may need a new pump or something else also it depends on how long it was leaking. It is not a serviceable unit. If your pressure is too low, the pump goes. There is a pressure regulator and spring so it doesn't build too much pressure but if your not getting enough pressure, it might be best to put another pump in. The pressure hose should not be repaired but replaced. OK be sure there's nothing binding, and that the tires are aired up ok.
