For about 2 weeks, when I would try to start my car it wouldn't do anything. The dash lights and CD player lights would flash about 4-6 times and then quit. I could turn the key and put the car in neutral and then back in park and it would start right up. Then one night it did it again and that didn't work. I got a jump start and came home. Parked the car and it hasn't started since. When you try to start it you can hear the relay switch fuse clicking. The battery is fully charged. Tried to bypass the ignition switch and that didn't work. I bought the car from a private seller and he had put a new engine in it and the total amount of the miles on this engine is just over 40,000. Any suggestions. I am tired of having to depend on other people when I want to go to work or anywhere else.

Thanks in advance for any input you may be able to give me.

First of all you need to check for power at the starter motor when you are cranking it over. If there is power at the starter then the starter is bad and needs to be replaced. If you have no power then you can look at the neutral safety switch on the transmission.
