1997 Dodge Intrepid 154,000 mi. This car was running fine then one day it started to run like it was running on four cylinders in stead of six. The check engine light came on so I took the car for a diagnostic check up the computer came back with a message of number 2 misfiring. Mister mechanic said to change the spark plugs and if these doses not work then change the plug wires and if this does not work then change the coil, well I went one step more and also change the fuel filter.
To no avail none of the above has solved my problem and now I have to drive with one foot on the gas and one foot on the brake to keep the car from stalling out on me. Can you help me before I take this car to a dealer? I check the codes and they are 12, 32, 43.

I believe 12 is a problem with the stand-by memory circuit, meaning the battery was probably disconnected within the last 50 ignition starts; 32 has to do with a problem with the EGR fuel pump and 43 is an engine misfire, probably relating to the spark plug problem the mechanic said. Not totally sure on these but they make sense for your symptoms. Also, if you go to www. Automotiveforums. Com and look up the forum on Dodge you will find a posting from a person which has all the codes for intrepids with a link.
Hope this helped.
