I have just received this car I needed to replace the water pump. It is the 3.5l so the timing belt is connected to the water pump. Well I changed it and it started up just fine. When it's running it sounds like its going to cut off then it kicks back on and runs fine. I can not tell when it is going to happen it does it when it wants to. I did get a code about a crankshaft sensor can that do that?

Yes that will definetely cause that. Your best bet is to take and make sure your cams and crank are timed properly since you did have the belt off.
