Hi, I have a 2004 Intrepid 2.7L with about 70,000 miles on it. Recently (and randomly) the car doesn't want to start on the first try. I turn the key and it just makes a click noise and nothing happens. I take the key out and try again and it starts up just fine. It's done it a few times earlier today, but has been ok since. And Like I said, It's only started happening recently (past few months) and very randomly, except for today. We haven't had any major repairs done or anything. The last thing we had done was have the Cam Shaft Sensor replaced. That was about 5 or 6 months ago I'd say. Thanks for any help!

Hello !

Well, we are going to start checking the battery connectors for corrosion, make sure that the connectors are in good shape and tight, sometimes there is a "false contact".
The Starter Uses a lot of "juice" from the battery and if the connectors are loose the starter just "clicks" (the bendix doesn`t "engage" the starter motor)
then check the battery for proper voltage and holding capacity.
And if connectors and battery are good we are going to have the starter bench test.

Let me know what do you find to continue with the troubleshooting.

BTW thanks a lot for your donation we appreciate that.(A lot)

let us know.

Thanks a ton for the quick response! So far the last 3 or 4 start-ups have been perfect. So I'm going to look into getting the battery checked out just in case and i'll update when I do. Thank you again for the quick response!
