2001 Dodge Durango 65,000 miles V8 engine. Hit a deer. After accident car was making noise and laboring hard. Then, it began to overheat-it has never had a problem before with this. A mechanic has told me the water pump went out and it has nothing to do with hitting the deer. The condenser is bent and pushed in, but currently not touching anything. Could the water pump have broken from the accident? And should the condenser be fixed (he doesn't want to fix it)?

The water pump can go at any time but if the truck was all right before the accident then it could have happened during the accident. Check where the impact of the deer was and check for anything that would push into the pump. Check the fan, check to see if the radiator is pushed in causing bad circulation.
