2000 Dodge Durango V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

i have my check engine light that keeps staying on i had a scanner hook up to it and there is no codes coming up i need to get the light of so i can bring it for emission i need to be pointed in the right direction on how i can get the light to shut off. it was on for the power steering switch but i replaced the switch, the light went off for a couple days and it came back on

You can reset the light by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. The code might be coming from a different module like the trans control module.

i did diconnect the battery and the scanner is saying no codes found a friend of mine told me to disconnect the batter and turn the key as if you are trying to start it do you think that will clear it, i reak=lly just need it of long enough to put it through emissions

Yeah try disconnecting the battery right before you take it in. If no codes are still present at the moment its not likely theyll come back once the batttery power is removed then brought in.

i disconnectd the battey a few tmes and the light stil staying on. in order to bring it through emission the light needs to be off, i do not know what to do from here.

If the light keeps coming back on you are going to have to have the vehicle repaired before bringing through the test station. I would need to know what code is setting.
