1998 Dodge Durango A/C Pump Clutch Chatter

1998 Dodge Durango V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic

A/c pump clutch chattering, but the A/C still cools properly. How do I stop the pump from chattering? The noise goes away when the A/C is turned off.

Chances are the clutch itself is going bad.
