I have a 1995 Dodge Dakota 4X4 SLT with a 5.2L (318 Cu In) with 5-speed manual transmission. The AC clutch never activates when the AC button is pressed, not even for an instant. (I don't think that this could be related to low refrigerant because the clutch would at least engage momentarily.) I disconnected the connector at the clutch and connected a voltmeter. I never get any voltage at the connector. I checked the fuse in the fuse box in the passenger compartment, I verified the compressor relay in the engine compartment is not the problem by swapping it with the starter relay (which is the same) and I verified the 30A fuse for the AC compressor in the electrical box that houses the relays in the engine compartment is good. I verified that the AC button on the AC/Heater control unit is good by removing the unit form the dash and checked for good continuity when the switch is pressed/depressed with an ohmmeter. Could this be an issue with the computer module? Is there a sensor/thermostat anywhere in the passenger compartment that might be faulty causing the compressor clutch not to activate? Note that all other electrical/mechanical systems work perfectly. Thank you in advance for any help with this problem!
