Dodge Dakota, 1993 with 124,000 miles. 8 cylinder engine.
This is my husband's truck for hauling hay and back and forth to work.
The dome light stopped coming on and at about the same time the radio stopped working. He has checked all the fuses; cannot find a schematic for same. Took it to a shop and they weren't able to find the problem.
Any ideas? The headlights, tail lights and dashlights are all ok.
Thanks.

Along with a wiring diagram and a DMM, ask the auto technician to perform a voltage drop test in the convenient lighting circuit to isolate source of an open circuit, circuit that are not making connection anymore.

It's far more likely that an open circuit will occur inside a connection or plug, a wire harness that is moved constantly, or a fail component; than it is that a wire is broken inside a fixed harness. the same apply for the radio

Here are the radio and dome light wiring diagrams so you can see where you lose power.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know what happens.

The dome light and the radio are on the same circuit as well as the glove box light & switch. They go to a time delay relay. See in the wiring diagrams above.
