2005 Dodge Dakota Automatic

I drove my husband's car. I locked the car from the inside to lock it since the remote/key did not have a battery in it.

I manually unlocked the car. The car alarm went off. I got into the car to start it, but the car just wouldn't turn over to start. The battery is not dead.

I tried putting a battery in the remote. The remote worked, but it didn't help at all to get the car started.

Sounds to me the enabler is activated. In your owners manual you will find procedure on how to reset the theft system and from there it should perform like it should.

I dont know the procedure for the type of system you have off of my head. Sorry.
