There is a howling noise coming from my truck somewhere when I get up to cruising. It stops when I let off the gas pedal or push it to speed up. It happens in any gear that I am cruising in regardless of rpm, load, or road conditions. Can anyone tell me where this noise might be coming from?

Hi:
Does it sound like it's coming from the front or rear? Mos likely it's a bearing but I need to know what area it's coming from. Does it change when you make turns.

It does not change when turning. It sounds like it is coming from the rear of the truck.

Hi:
what I suggest is to have the rear differential serviced and checked for excessive play. Many of the differentials in these trucks develop play in the differential which require shims to repair. Let me know what you find.
