2003 Dodge Dakota gas smelling liquid in my oil

I have done all my own oil changes and repair's since the truck was brand new. This time when I took off the oil cap it was coverd with a brown sludge and what looked like water but definitley smelled like gas. Now lately on cold starts the idle goes up an down an some times stalls. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Have you had to add any coolant to the system? Has the check engine light come on? Also, have you ever replaced the PCV valve?

Have added coolant/water to radiator. Check engine light has come on before but went off after doin oil change's. Have never touched the pcv valve.I've had this truck since it had 10k miles. It just hit 100k. I've done all oil changes and any repaire myself so I can tell you pretty much anything about the truck.
