Hello all, I recently replaced my water pump because it was going bad. During the same time it made noise around the belt area. Dont know what it is. I oiled the belt bacause a mechanic told me it would stop and it did only to return. The noise is a weird clicking type that sounds when the rpm's are going up. When idle the noise isnt as loud but still there. Any ideas?
Thank You.

The oil is a tempory fix if the belt is dry. Usually, it will cause it to make more noise. However, if spraying the belt itself and not an accessory stopped the noise, then the belt is either dried out or cracked and causing a noise.

Can you explaine where you actually sprayed to stop the noise?
