I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota. I bought it 3 yrs ago and have had problems ever since. All seem to be related. My truck would stop running/turnoff/die at slow speeds. I was blowing the Engine #2 fuse in the ECM. Three items are run through the #2 fuse, fuel pump, ASD relay, and PCM. I had the Fuel pump replaced, ECM replaced, ASD Relay replaced. Finally 2009, I had 3 fusable links placed in line to determine which item was shorting my fuse. Since the 15amp fuses were installed no more blown fuses. Now 2010, my engine is stalling/dying at low RPMs. Error codes state an idle motor short circuit. I've had the idle motor, evap hoses, gas cap and intake replaced. Still no change. I have been lucky to get most of this work done for parts cost, but at what point can I narrow it down? Dealership wont look at it for less than $400. All total I have only spent $1100 to fix so far.

All the idle air wires go back to the computer. If there is a short you need to look at all the connections to make sure they are making good contact. That could be your short. With a problem like you have itis best to have it physically looked at instead of here. Shorts can be very hard to determine where the problem lies. If the dealer wants so much money try an indepent repair shop. They may hve see it before so know where the problem lies.
