After I have been driving for 2 or 3 miles, when I come to a stop the engine dies out. I restart the truck and begin driving again. I stop multiple times and the vehical has no sign of problems. It again dies out after a few miles of driving when I come to a stop. I did notice that my gas gage goes to complete empty and the low gas light comes on. However, It happend only one or two times. After I restart the engine, the cycle repeats once again.

Hi:
It could be many things. Since mine was doing the same and it was a map sensor, I would like to point you in that direction, but would rather do some checking first. Even if the ck engine light isn't on, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free. Let me know what you find.

As far as the fuel gauge, the float is part of the fuel pump, and they go bad. THe pump may be fine, or it could be causing the problem, but regardless, the float is most likely the problem with your fuel gauge.
