2001 Dodge Dakota Start Truck just get a click

2001 Dodge Dakota V8 Four Wheel Drive 167000 miles

Battery on truck is brand new, now when I go to start truck I just get a loud click coming from the starter. Is starter bad? Or does it need something else?

It sounds like a bad starter. Try this. Have a helper turn the key to the start position while you check the smaller wire on the starter for voltage. You should have 12+ volts. If you do, remove the starter and have it bench tested at a parts store.
