I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota club cab, 3.9 V6 automatic 2WD with 120,000 mi. I hear a rattling noise when it's in Drive, but noise stops when I put it in neutral. Any suggestions as to what it is?

Check the exhaust system for loose parts especially the catylatic converter heat shield. If everything is tight, take a rubber mallot and tap on the converter to determine if the insides have broken loose.

Let me know what you find.
