1999 Dodge Dakota starting?

Eng was running good. After stopping at a stop sign started to accel. Heard and felt a loud snap, truck would not move in any gear. Shut eng off, pushed it out of intersection then tried to restart, it turns over good but will not start

Looking under the hood, you don't see anything wrong? I don't know about the sound? Have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If you have spark everywhere, use a gage and check fuel pressure. All I can do is check the basics.
