How can I reset the computer as it reads nothing when it is hooked up for inspection. He tells me to drive a few hundred miles in order to pass inspection!I unhooked the battery cables to clean and he said that it wiped out the computer info and thats why I need to drive a few hundred miles to reset computer.

If the battery is disconnected, the computer will know this and store that code. If it is driven and stopped, driven and stopped, and drived say 10 miles and stopped, the computer will still show that the battery was disconnected but it will also have had time to test the whole fuel, spark, and emission control systems to be sure they are ok.

This video will help you clear the computer

If you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
