Transmission problem
1995 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive 189000 miles

I recently replaced the burnt out 5 speed manual trans.
with a 904 trans. From a 69 coronet the shop that started the process went under. So I am trying to finish the job my self - truck was driven out of the shop prev. To installing shift linkage however wrong flex plate bolts were used, I have replaced bolts installed shift and throttle linkages but transmission will not engage.

That is a tough one for me to help with. I can honestly say I never put a 904 in a Dakota. If everyting is connected up, the only thing that can be wrong is the linkage. Have you double checked that?
