At the most I am only getting maybe 10 mpg on the highway and I noticed a bitter exhaust smell, like its running too rich. The air filter is clean and the oil was changed recently. I have not replaced the fuel filter yet. Several months ago I removed the cat. Converter and welded in a straight pipe. Any pointers?

WHen you removed the cat, did you replace the O2 sensor? That could be the entire problem.

Hi,
First, thanks for the positive feedback. I appreciate it.

My primary concern is the fact that there isn't an oxygen sensor since you removed the cat. As far as checking it, you have to remove it and check ohms.

Let me know if you have other questions.
Joe
