I put wd40 on my serpetine belt in a 92 dodge dakota and it is making an awful noise. I was doing my door jams and thought it would be a good idea to do my belt. I did it at night around 6pm and did not start my truck. When I started it the next mornign it sounded awful. It was not making a noise prior to that. Please help.

Take off belt and wash it in warm soapy water and get all the oil off. Clean off all the pulleys with rubbing alchol and let them dry. Put it back on and let it run. Whats happening is that the belt is slipping.
