I drive a 2006 dodge charger with aprox. 66345 miles. About 4 months ago it started making a slight strange knocking noise and I took it to get checked out and they shook my entire car out n both times couldn't find a problem. Well it started clanking and clunking in the right front wheel whell area, its to the point where if a turn my wheel it squeeks, and it makes the noise very lound wether im on a smooth road or not! When anyone gets in or out the front of the car it erks and clunks, if u bounce on it it does the same and I can feel it knocking in the steering I beleive! Its gotten very bad all of the sudden and its become alarming. I was told it could be shocks or struts, what is ur opinion? And I wont have money to fix it for about a month or so. So do u think it will be safe to drive for simple trips untile then? Thanks :)

If it's a shock or strut as long as it's not broken it will jsut react funny like noises and maybe alot of bouncing after hitting a bump. It could also be a sway bar stabilizer which are like 2 long bolts with bushings that go to the lower control arm on both sides. It's easy to see if you can get down there to look. It's fairly easy to replace(the stabilizers) if you are mechanically inclined.

First of all no it`s not safe you have a problem in your suspention and if you possibly loose a wheel while driving it could be hazardus to yours or someone elses safety. Depending on what is wrong with it it could be very dangerous, you should have it checked by a trusted mechanic.
