1973 Dodge Charger V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

okay I have a little problem. I have a 73 charger and just the other day my car started poppin in the carb. I bought I carb kit and put it together last night and its still poppin. What could it be? It might be a flat cam, but I dont want to take it out and it not be it. Any ideas?

A popping noise through the carb is an indication of an exaust valve not opening. If you know what cylinder it is or disconnect the plug wires one by one to find it, take that valve cover off an dsee if you have a bent pushrod or a worn cam, you'll see the valve not opening or not opening enough.
