Last week, I went over nasty unmarked dip that was about 6 inches deep or so at about 15 - 20 mph. The front of the car hit down hard with a scraping noise. I looked underneath and saw the two little plastic things that jut down were scraped but could see no other scraping.

The ride on the car was much rougher. It used to absorb the bumps and road irregularities very smoothly and had a great ride, better than my husband's Lincoln. Now I can feel every bump and rough patch and am getting bounced around.

I took it to the dealer and they checked the suspension, which they said looked fine. They said it was out of alignment and a front tire needed rebalancing, which they did. The car feels no better than before. I am actually getting slightly motion sick by the time I get to work after a 45 min. Drive.

What could be causing this roughness other than the tires or alignment? Is this something that is difficult to diagnose and that I might have to live with? This is a new car and that would be very upsetting. Could the suspension have been damaged and if so, what should they check for that they may not have the first time?

Hi
May have damaged struts bounce front of car left side then right. Is it easily pushed? Does it continue to bounce after you stop pushing? Look at strut assembly see any oil on strut?
Let me know

As I mentioned in my question, the dealer already checked the suspension, which would certainly have included them bouncing the front of the car, I would think, since that is the first thing I did before I even took it anywhere for service and it was tight and fine. Any other suggestions?

I test drove a new Challenger earlier today to compare it to my car and realized that the biggest difference was how my car took the bigger bumps, where the back end seems to bounce up/down harder than it did before.

Thx
