I have a 1993 Dodge Caravan with 886000 miles it is constantly ticking. It usually does this when the oil is low however I had the oil changed just two weeks ago and the dip stick says the level is fine. My oil light also comes on when I turn sharply. What's going on?

Sorry for the late reply.

It sounds like your about ready for an engine overhaul? You may be able to use an analog pressure gage in place of the oil pressure sending unit, to check oil pressure. For 3.3L engine, 5psi at idle, 30--80 psi at 3000 rpms.

You can try locating the tick, if you don't already know? You can use a long metal rod of some kind, place the end on the valve/cam cover, the other end, I place on that bone back of ear, it helps magnify the sound for me. If nothing there, try the same thing on the oil pan. If the ticking is coming from oil pan, pull oil pan see if any metal in the pan?

I realize this is an old post. In the future, hope you don't have any vehicle issues, but, if you do, keep the site in mind. They are always working to improve the site and it's free to ask a question.
Have a good day.
