Computer Reset Process?

I have a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan. Transmission replaced prior to my purchase from private owner. Similar problems with shifting and stalling as other email submissions here. Took vehicle to mechanic (non-dealer) who had it for 4 weeks. Eventually they took it to dealer to "reset" the transmission and change out a few sensors.

Now the center-console heater/fan/rear-window wiper controls flash for 15 minutes EVERY time the vehicle is turned on. The rear window wiper sporadically takes off on its own and the passenger window recently quit working from either door control. The trouble code is 45 which the Haynes manual references as a "EATX Controller DTC present". Huh? The cruise and over-drive and shifting all seem normal.

I would like my window back and the Christmas lights to stop flashing. My dad seems to think there is some button pushing sequence that will make the console lights work right. ANY IDEAS WHAT TO DO?

Hi darrelld, as far as your "EATX Controller DTC present" goes I got the following info from another forum I am a member to hopefully it will help you out, but as far as the xmas light console problem im sorry I cant provide much help there other than it could be crossed wiring because I had an issue with an old chevy blazer I had where my windshield wipers went sparatic and it turned out to be crossed wires behind the steering wheel, ok heres the info on your fault code though. It means that there is an active fault in the Transmission Control Module. A DRB-III scanner will need to be hooked up in order to test the TCM for any circuitry failure. The only thing that you will be able to do yourself is to disconnect any wiring connectors at the tranny, make sure that they are clean and then snugly re-attached. Hope this helps.-Todd

I just realized that your title said computer reset process, to reset your computer just disconnect the positive cable from the battery on most vehicles for 5-10 minutes, some vehicles might require longer, but that will reset the computer
