If the EGR valve fails can it cause problems so the fuel injection system needs to be cleaned and the spark plugs replaced. I think I have RE14PLP5 which are platinum at least that's the part number that is under the hood. Are these supposed to last 100K like the owners manual says

Hi:
The EGR is an exhaust gas recirclation system. Its job is to recycle unburned fuel. Based on that theory, I don't think it would cause the plugs to go so quick.

What did the plugs look like when you removed them?

Did you buy the van new? If not, could someone may have chenged them. Also, here in PA, we have to offer the old parts back. If we don't, the customer can get away without paying for them.
