Will start when you take postive off batterry an but back on but as soon as you put it in gear it stalls. It smells like gas very bad an sounds like it choking it self out fuses, plugs wires cadlac converter egr valve have all been replaced. Could it be the fuel pump?

Are you saying the starter won't even crank until you remove battery voltage? Any applicable trouble codes? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. It sounds like something resetting when you remove battery voltage?

Are your spark plugs wet, when you smell the gas?
